Testing boundaries,
My eyes
travel across
the length
of your body
your face
your eyes.
Then,together,
impolite,
across Mumbai
take flight.
When they return
I come to learn
When I look at me,
my eyes
are no longer
my eyes.
status-Creeped out.I woke up at 3.30am today with a sudden jolt and the memory of a dream with a suggestion of these lines on a page. Except that instead of Mumbai it was Chennai. ???
I dont understand this at all.
ReplyDeleteIs it supposed to be that abstract??
@ TUIB-Okay.......this is difficult for me.......but I will attempt.
ReplyDeleteA love poem about the hazy beginnings where infatuation and love and lust and many other things overlap.
'my eyes, are no longer,my eyes'......when I look at myself now I will think of how you look at me.....I will look at myself through your eyes.
Oh, now I see. Thank you, Dee for explaining that to me.
ReplyDeleteI did not realise it was written about love, which is very silly of me.. I'm usually rather more perceptive than this..
And Chennai? I wud have suspected a Mallu-Bong if you'd said Thiruvananthapuram! :D
